HazardHierdoor kan bij een ongeval met activering van de bijrijdersairbag de beschermende werking verminderd zijn, wat het risico op letsel voor de bijrijder verhoogt. Ook kan het gasgeneratorhuis barsten of kunnen onderdelen losraken, wat kan leiden tot ernstige of zelfs dodelijke verwondingen bij inzittenden.
