Bij de gasgenerator van de bestuurdersairbag kunnen er storingen ontstaan als deze door de jaren werd blootgesteld aan hoge absolute luchtvochtigheid en hoge temperatuurschommelingen.
HazardBij een airbagactivering na een botsing kan er een te hoge druk ontstaan in de gasgenerator en als deze ontploft kunnen de rondvliegende metalen delen ernstige verwondingen veroorzaken of zelfs tot de dood leiden.
